Jimmy Kimmel, Jeopardy! win Emmys

Last night, the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys gave out the awards last night.

The 2025 Creative Arts Emmys Awards were held over the weekend, giving away all the awards that no one wants to watch during the main ceremony next weekend, and our corner of the entertainment world managed to get its flowers.

Jeopardy! won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show, beating out Celebrity Family Feud, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. This is the third year in a row the show of answers and questions have bagged the award. (The Emmy for Outstanding Game Show moved from the Daytime Emmy awards to the Primetime Emmy awards in 2023.)

Jimmy Kimmel’s performance across from the Hot Seat has earned him another Emmy—and another Academy snub for Elizabeth Banks’s stellar performance behind the podium of Press Your Luck—for the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show. Kimmel’s very first Emmy for hosting a game show was also his very first Emmy, in 1999, as the co-host for the Comedy Central cult classic Win Ben Stein’s Money.

Steve Harvey for Celebrity Family Feud, Ken Jennings for Jeopardy!, and Colin Jost for Extraneous Jeopardy! collect their gift bags but otherwise leave awardless. The only way I see Banks winning this Emmy is if a player finally wins the $1,000,000 in the Big Bucks Bonanza, so players, go big so Elizabeth Banks can win an Emmy that I feel she’s deserved since starting her role as host of the show.

On the Reality Competition side of things, Alan Cummings won Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for his masterful performance as the eccentric emcee of Peacock’s The Traitors. The other nominees were RuPaul for RuPaul’s Drag Race, the Sharks on Shark Tank (but are they really the host of that show?), Kristen Kish for Top Chef, and Jeff Probst for Survivor. In addition, The Traitors won a second Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program.
