Changes Coming To The Price Is Right This Season

The Price Is Right is about to enter its 55th season, and some viewers have already gotten a taste of what’s in store. Taping started up again in July, and there are some changes coming to the show when it premieres this September.

According to the show’s page on the On-Camera Audiences website, season 55 will include some special episodes on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Wild Wheel Wednesdays, additional prizes will be available during the Showcase Showdown. This includes the opportunity to win over $100,000.

The show is also taking “bendies” to the next level. On Bendy Fridays, if the wheel’s pointer bends but doesn’t flip over to the next space, everybody in the audience will win free donuts. This serves as an extension of a running joke that Drew Carey has been making on the show.

Free donuts for everybody is nice and all, but said audience is becoming smaller this season. In previous seasons, the show let approximately 160 fans attend each show, but that number is reportedly shrinking to roughly 100 for 2026-27. The show also has a new holding area for audience members.

As of now, The Price Is Right employs six models: Rachel Reynolds, Alexis Gaube, Devin Goda, Amber Lancaster, Manuela Arbelaez, and James O’Halloran. Traditionally, each episode features two of said models, but fans in the audience have reported that some episodes this season will only have one.

The show has a subtle tradition of sorts at the beginning of each episode. As the host Drew Carey enters the stage, one of the models hands a microphone to him. However, it appears that there will be no microphone hand-off during these one-model episodes. In this case, Drew will have a mic in hand before he appears on screen. Bear this in mind in the off chance that you’re keeping score at home.
