25 Words or Less Renewed For Season 8, Moving To NYC
25 Words Or Less is officially returning for an eighth season. The syndicated game show is also relocating from Atlanta to Jersey City, which is much closer to the host Meredith Vieira’s home. In turn, 25 Words is looking for contestants in New York City and neighboring areas.
The show has also announced that live episodes would be returning. During the taping of season 7, viewers were able to watch at least one episode in real time per weekday on Xumo Play. Additional live episodes also aired on FOX in the New York and Philadelphia markets. During the live tapings, fans were also able to take part in polls, see bonus content, and enter contests to win cash and prizes. However, the exact details about live episodes in season 8 have yet to be revealed.

The move to New York has fans hoping that other changes are in store for the show. In particular, many people want 25 Words to return to a traditional set. All players have been placed into individual pods since season 2, which is a system that was implemented to allow the show to continue taping during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the move to New Jersey, some fans are hopeful that 25 Words could leave the pods behind for good, and have everyone play the game on the same stage again.
25 Words or Less has had a long and successful run thus far. The previous syndicated game show to reach season 8 in the US was Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which was also hosted by Vieira. If you live in or near New York City, you can apply for the show here.
