Billionaire Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Engaged To Game Show Host

The singer announced her engagement on Instagram earlier today.

Pop queen Taylor Swift announced today on Instagram that she and boyfriend Travis Kelce, the star of the E! reality dating competition Catching Kelce, and the host of Amazon Prime’s Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity, and (checks notes) a football player?

Hrm, weird. Anyway, they announced that they’re engaged!

Taylor Swift is a multi-hyphenate entertainment mogul, whose career has garnered hundreds of thousands of diehard fans worldwide. Her accolades are seemingly never-ending, including 14 Grammy awards of which 4 were Album of the Year wins; 12 Country Music Association awards; and 30 MTV Video Music Awards. She is the highest-grossing touring act of all time, and the first artist to spend 100 weeks atop the Billboard Artist 100. She was the youngest artist on Rolling Stone’s 2015 list of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of all time, and according to Forbes magazine, is the richest female musician in the world.

In Super Bowl 59, for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce went 4 for 6 for 39 yards and scored no points against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Taylor Swift isn’t exactly a stranger to game shows—she appeared as a talking head greeting during Wheel of Fortune’s 25th anniversary year, linked to her success as a country music artist. Get ready for a script clearly given to her to read two minutes before recording and not at all actually written by her:

This is not the first Amazon Prime game show host to absolutely marry way outside their league—In 2020, writer for the Nickelodeon show Kappa Mikey and future host of the unnecessary Pop Culture Jeopardy! Colin Jost married actress and singer Scarlett Johansson, the highest-grossing lead in the history of cinema.
