Rumor: ABC Reviving Match Game Without Alec Baldwin?
Wherever it ends up, it's getting filmed in Montreal in June.
Don’t have a ton of info right now, but the rumor mill is churning that ABC will be announcing in a few weeks that they’ll be reviving Match Game in a new production. Things we do know: no Alec Baldwin, and they won’t be taping in NYC or LA. Will they be filming in Europe or Atlanta or a third, weirder location? Not sure yet. Stay tuned.
ETA: The third, weirder location might be Montreal? According to this recently-discovered casting notice, Match Game is filming in Montreal in June. It doesn’t list ABC, just Bell Media (who owns CTV, and where Match Game last appeared in English before ABC, on CTV Comedy), which is interesting.
More credence to this rumor, silly as it may be—ABC recently changed the cover photo of the ABC Match Game Facebook page, something they usually only do when news is coming up about the property they’re updating.
ABC will be holding a press event in a few weeks—we’ll probably find more information out then.
