Yes, seriously. GSN’s very-much-missed quiz show The Chase is now available for streaming on Netflix. The first two seasons are up so you’ve got 17 episodes and over 13 hours of game available right now. If you didn’t get GSN when the show was airing, this is a great time to see what you’ve missed and continue to hope that they’ll bring it back once they’re sick of seeing literally everything else they have bomb.
Get ready for some hardcore old-ladies-pulling-handles-while-drinking-a-Diet-Coke action.
As we prepare to see Hillary Clinton debate Donald Trump one-on-one for the first time, take a look back at a game show version of a debate. Here’s the rarely seen 2003 Game Show Network special Who Wants to be Governor of California: The Debating Game. The special poked fun at the 2003 California recall election and saw various “celebrities” running for office compete for a $21,200 prize (the maximum single donation allowed by law). Contestants included former child actor Gary Coleman and porn star Mary Carey.
The premiere features Dr. Drew and Mike Catherwood of Loveline against GloZell Green and Gaby Dunn of YouTube.
Want a chance to win cash and prizes, possibly including a car? Check out a taping of GSN’s upcoming WinSanity where contestants answer questions and the audience shares in the winnings. The series starts taping on February 6th at the incredibly specific time of 1:22PM so they expect punctuality, god dammit.
If you’re around tonight, tune into GSN at 8:00PM ET for the finale of The Chase. It’s looking somewhat likely that it’s the series finale, but at minimum it’s the last new episode for a while. Chain Reaction takes its time slot next week to finish out its run.
The last episodes of GSN’s extremely good Chain Reaction revival debut Friday, December 18th at 8:00PM ET. Sony is still looking at a potential syndicated run if GSN decides not to renew it, which looks more likely than not.
